Located near Vancouver, Washington and the Felida Moorage at the northeast end of Vancouver Lake. 

Much of the site has over the years eroded and washed into the waterway or has been dug by collectors.

SOME TIMES CALLED THE "HERZOG SITE"

Located near Vancouver, Washington and the Felida Moorage at the northeast end of Vancouver Lake. 

Much of the site has over the years eroded and washed into the waterway or has been dug by collectors

and or the Oregon Archaeological Society in 1964.

                      THE "OLD OBIE SITE" Located near the Dalles Dam on the north or

Washington State side of the  Columbia River.

                      Note, the railroad tracks have split the site and have caused a  large amount of damage to the site.

Much of this area was dug in the 50's and 60's by collectors.

                       45-KL-26 COMMON NAME IS WAKEMAP MOUND. THIS ARCHAEOLOGICAL IS ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS OF ALL THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES ON THE COLUMBIA RIVER SYSTEM.  WAKEMAP MOUND WAS A FEATURE OF A SMALL  BOOKLET PUBLISHED  THE THE OREGON ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY IN 1959 COPY'SARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE ON THIS WEB-SITE.  This photo is not to be copied with out our  permission.  To our knowledge this is the only photo of the Wakemap Mound in Color. About  1950 cir.

                            45-KL-26 WAKEMAP MOUND TODAY:  This a photo of WakemapMound at present.  The site has been covered with water from the reservoir of The Dalles Dam located several miles to the west and is patrolled 24/7 by the Coup of Engineers.

CELILO FALLS OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER BEFORE BEING COVERED BY THE BACKWATERS OF THE DALLES DAM IN APRIL 1957.

     LOCATED ON I-84 EAST OF THE DALLES OREGON AT CELILO PARK, AND THE AMERICAN INDIAN VILLAGE NEAR CELILO PARK. TODAY, ONLY PHOTOS REMAIN OF THIS ONCE LARGE FISHING AND PRE-HISTORICAL SITE.  Most present day archaeologist consider the Celilo Falls of the Columbia River as the center for Ancient Man in the Pacific Northwest. All trails and water ways lead to the Dalles-Celilo Falls area.  Here at  Dalles most trading, marketing, and cultural exchanges were made.

45-KL-219 COMMON NAME IS BOB'S POINT.

LOCATED SEVERAL MILES WEST OF BIGGS JUNCTION ON THE WASHINGTON SIDE OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER. MOST OF THE SITE WAS DESTROYED BY THE RISING WATERS OF THE DALLES DAM IN THE LATE 1950'S. DURING THE LATE 60'S AND 70'S THE SITE WAS MOSTLY DESTROYED BY LOOTING AND POT-HUNTING.  LITTLE REMAINS TODAY BUT SOME WEEDS AND SAGEBRUSH.

NEAR THE CONFLUENCE OF THE JOHN DAY RIVER AND THE COLUMBIA RIVER. ALL OF THIS AREA WAS COVERED BY THE WATERS OF THE JOHN DAY DAM BACKWATERS IN APRIL 1967. NOTE: THE BACKSIDE OF THE JOHN DAY DAM. BEFORE 1967. TODAY THIS AREA HAS OVER 100 FEET OF WATER OVER IT.

45-KL-23B COMMON NAME IS "WINDY POINT"

    LOCATED IN THE MID-COLUMBIA RIVER NEAR SUNDALE ORCHARDS. THIS SITE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES SITES BACK IN THE 60'S.  LOTS OF VERY NICE ARTIFACTS FROM THIS SITE, AS THE SITE HAD BEEN WASHED OUT BY THE SPRING FLOODS OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER.  IT WAS AT THIS SITE THAT I AND MY WIFE FOUND OVER 200 PERFECT POINTS IN ONE WEEKEND. TODAY, ITS IS GONE WITH OVER 60 FEET OF WATER FROM THE JOHN DAY DAM RESERVOIR.

      LOCATED AT THE MOUTH OF YAKIMA RIVER AT COLUMBIA POINT EAST OF RICHLAND, WA. TODAY, THIS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE IS CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC. LOOTING AND DESTROYING ANY PART OF THIS SITE WILL GIVE YOU 30 DAYS IS THE BENTON COUNTY JAIL IN KENNEWICK, WA.

45-BN-157A & B COMMON NAME IS YEAGERS ISLAND:

LOCATED ONE MILE WEST OF VERNITE BRIDGE ON SR-240. THIS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE IS CLOSED TO ANY TYPE OF DIGGING OR LOOTING. IT'S IS PATROLLED 24/7 BY THE HANFORD PATROL WE ASH YOU TO NOT VIEW THIS SITE WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION.

45-YK-15 COMMON NAME IS "HOUSE PIT SITE"

    LOCATED ONE MILE BELOW PRIEST RAPIDS DAM ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER. THIS SITE IS PROTECTED 24/7 BY GRANT COUNTY PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT AND THE WAMAPUM INDIANS WHO LIVE NEAR THE SITE.  THIS SITE WAS HEAVILY WASHED OUT WHEN THE DAM WAS BUILT. THE BALANCE WAS POT-HUNTED DURING THE EARLY 70'S. TODAY IF YOU WISH TO LOOT OR DESTROY THIS SITE WE HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY YOU'RE STAY IN THE YAKIMA COUNTY JAIL.

LOCATED NEAR THE SMALL TOWN OF BRIDGEPORT, WA. IN NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON STATE UPPER COLUMBIA RIVER SITE. PART OF THE WELLS DAM RESERVOIR
