I am a founder and a charter member of the Mid-Columbia Archaeology Society.

I have excavated and lead digs (excavations) from Wakemap Mound,  Chiawana Park, and the great Umatilla

Town site.

With degrees in Archaeology and Anthropology, Geology and Botany, I can approach authentication from many aspects. An in-depth analysis is performed on every artifact including cultural affiliation, lithic technology, type, age, and taphonomic evaluation.

Because of the large numbers of DEALER AUTHENTICATOR AND APPRAISERS  selling certificate, On the e-bay venue we will no longer lower ourselves to certicatify art of artifacts for sale on a commercial inter-net sales. Fraud comes in many forms and dealers authentication their own sales or having non professional archaeologist grade pre-historical items is like putting the "FOX IN THE HEN HOUSE WITH THE CHICKEN."

MOST ARE A SIMPLY RUBBER STAMP.

Artifact Appraisal and Authentication is for      PROFESSIONAL ARCHAEOLOGIST ONLY.

It is our professional view that only a professionally trained and University graduate has the skill, knowledge, and with experience to elevate Pre-Historical art and artifacts. We believe that knowledge of such lithic materials (Geology) as well as the Cultures and Social compotation of any given Pre-Euro-American culture within North America, is a must in any elevation of such art or artifacts. We believe this is accomplished by a minimum of a four year degree from a accreted college or university within the area of elevation. We believe that experience is also required by variations of professional field schools, professional laboratory work and experience within the region that any elevations of cultural remains are in question.

We assert that anthropology/archeology is a profession, the same as medicine, dentistry, school teaching, or any other professional occupation. We ask you to use common sense in appraising, authenticating or evaluating human cultural remains and use ONLY those with a professional diploma from four year college or university. It's our view that any authenticator or appraiser much have several years of field and laboratory experience.  We know of several legal case in which the hobbyist, collector, and dealers evaluations were and will be rejected in a court of law as only a non-professionals opinions with little merit. We encourage all to be very wise in your selection of a authenticator and use ONLY THOSE WHO OPINION WILL STAND THE TEST OF A LEGAL SUIT IN A COURT OF LAW.

It is our view that regarding the self taught and hobbyist, that have a microscope in the "Hallway Closet" that far to many of these self taught people are using their opinions to glamorize and dramatize Pre-Columbium art and artifacts for "Dealers" who's sole reason is to sell art and artifacts on the e-bay venue. Fraud is ramped on e-bay with as much as 50% of the art and artifacts sold on the e-bay sites are modern or re-worked junk.  Computation among dealers is vicious with some selling art and artifacts with little honor or considerations for the descendants of the American Indian. These acts we believe are for purely monetary gain and we wish to distance ourselves from any Buying and selling on their part. Yet, we believe buying and selling is a normal natural behavior of the human sprit but, please understand these cultural remains our part of our American Heritage. An as such, all Americans need to use common sense in selling these treasures. Perhaps, the tribes would buy them? Perhaps, other Museums or Societies should spend more time inventorying the old collections. We also believe states and the federal government need to review their behavior of the past and spend less tax payers money on lawyers and legal suite, in which they seam to always lose, and more time and funds purchasing the cultural materials than on lawyers and courts. We have stated, before in this web-page the need for "BALANCE",  Archaeology is the looser of all these civil suites, criminal cases, and I'm going to force my values on others.

The entire science of archaeology, today is and will be known in the future as Legalistic and the Dark Ages of modern archaeology in the Pacific Northwest. Too, turn this around the present Social Workers, with a PhD must return to anthropology and archaeology and stop the political correct, whinnying and anger of "It's my way or no way"  Your way statement sounds like three little boys fighting over who daddy is the best.  Hey, you clowns, and leftists, get a grip on the real world. American, is not about Socialism. Its about BALANCE and you guy's are flunking out on balance. Our entire culture even political system requires some giving and taking, so how about climbing down from the Ivory Tower and stop play politics and get back to Anthropology and Archaeology.
